Search Engine Operators

The operators supported by Medical World Search are OR, AND, NOT, and NEAR. All these operators can be fully used in Boolean queries when the search option is Main Sites, Altavista, WebCrawler, and HealthGate MEDLINE. WebCrawler appears to mishandle NEAR under some conditions. HotBot does not support the NEAR operator. Infoseek does not support boolean operators.
