General Announcement on Scrammble Tournament

February 28, 2006, Somers, NY - Through the effort of many volunteers and generous support of a number of corporate citizens, the Scrammble Tournament is officially off the ground. The official Tournament web site at http://www.scrammble.us is now open to the public.

Scrammble Tournament is a community education project aimed to stimulate children to develop a good learning habit and to raise funds for community libraries and school PTA/PTO organizations to support education. The Tournament is a public fun event to be held in the National Teacher’s Week from April 29^th to May 7^th, 2006 at Citibank, Route 100, Somers and Mahopac Public Library, Route 202, Mahopac. There will be three divisions in the Tournament, Single, Guardian and Child and Student Team all subdivided into several age groups. The Tournament will provide public, free, practice Scrammble workshops at the Citibank location Wednesdays (March 1- April 19, 3:30-5PM) and at the Mahopac Library Thursdays (March 16 – April 20, 3:30-5PM). Schools, libraries and scout troops may request practice workshop to be held at their locales by contacting scramble@mwsearch.com or call 914-248-6770.

Awards and Prizes will be given to winners. Cash award will be given to exceptional divisional Champions. Participants are required to register with a sponsor name (businesses, schools or libraries) and pay a nominal fee (to make sure there will be no no-show to jeopardize the competition ladder). A registration form is available on the web site for download and submission.

The generous supporters and contributors of this community project are listed on the web site including Citibank, Sound Federal Savings, Pepsi, Reader’s Digest, Cablevision … and numerous educational game manufacturers. The Tournament continues to receive donations and products as prizes. A contribution form is available on the web site for making a contribution. Schools and all community organizations are encouraged to participate in this event.
